Brett Gotcher finishes 17th at 2008 US Olympic Trials - 10,000m
Eugene, Oregon - July 4, 2008
After a season of personal bests in the 5000m and 10000m, McMillanElite's Brett Gotcher finished his 2008 season with a strong showing in the 10000m Final at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.

The race, won by Abdi Abdirahman who trains regularly in Flagstaff, got off to a fast start with several runners attempting to achieve the Olympic 'A' Standard in order to reach the Olympic Games in Beijing later this Summer. Despite being one of the youngest runners in the field, Gotcher held his own and ran a smart race, finishing in 17th place with a time of 28:54.89.
This race was a valuable learning experience for Brett as he will undoubtedly return again in four years to better his place and try for the Olympic Games once again.
McMillanElite would like to congratulate Brett on his amazing 2008 season and especially his performance at this year's Olympic Trials. We are all very proud of his accomplishments and are looking forward to more great races in the coming years.
